Did you know??? ....that one stray cat that is not spayed or neutered can produce 20 or more cats within a year? Then those 20 new cats can combine to produce 400 cats the following year. And so forth. The numbers are actually pretty staggering when you do the math. Many cats who once had a home were left homeless after Katrina and have since multiplied. The city of New Orleans is overrun with cats. WAIF is a group of neighborhood volunteers who trap, neuter and return feral and stray cats. We do this to prevent the unnecessary suffering of these innocent animals, and to contribute to the health and safety of the neighborhood. We are 100% volunteer, and do not get paid for our work at all. Please help us to help these animals, and our neighborhood. We have traps to loan, and with the help of the wonderful Dr. Dusty, and Star, his amazing vet tech, have had great successes in our efforts. But the problem isn't going away, so we need your help. We are continuously holding a raffle of a personal pet portrait by ArtsyFartsyAnimals.com to raise money.
